Executive Management Appointment for Drilling Division

Gerald Heisig joined SDI on April 1, 2011 as Senior Vice President and General Manager – Drilling Division. Heisig is a native of Lower Saxony, Germany and received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig following service in the German Air Force. Holder of a number of patents in the area of drilling technology, he is author of in excess of 20 published articles regarding drilling, drilling optimization, drilling dynamics and related subjects. Heisig has held positions in developmental engineering, engineering management, product line management and applications engineering with a major oilfield service company.
