The API Natural Gamma Ray solution is a probe-based, API calibrated sensor that detects naturally occurring gamma radiation from the formation.  It has been designed to be fully compatible with Scientific Drilling’s MWD systems and supports all BHA configurations.

In the Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA), the API Natural Gamma Ray solution is placed just above the motor enabling quicker reaction to formation changes.

The API Natural Gamma Ray and Inclination technology is positioned directly above the mud motor – delivering measurements that are 20-25ft (6-8m) closer to the bit than standard MWD.

The API Natural Gamma Ray and Inclination measurements can be utilized by the Directional Driller during the build section for early monitoring of the mud motor output. While rotating, in the lateral, continuous inclination measurements can be used to monitor and maintain the wellbore trajectory.

Its precision inclination measurement is 20-25ft (6-8m) closer than MWD inclination, it can be utilized by the Directional Driller during the build section for early monitoring of the mud motor output.
