Kedrin, the eldest child of Scientific Drilling founders Don and Elizabeth Van Steenwyk, is an owner of SDI and has been a director on the board since 2003. In 2011, she joined the Audit Committee from its inception.
Formerly an OB/GYN until her retirement in 2013, Kedrin completed her internship in 1979 and residency in 1984 at Kettering/Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She specialized in private practice in the Cincinnati/Dayton area and also served as the Program and Clinic Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program at Kettering Medical Center, holding a faculty position at Wright State. Throughout her career, Kedrin lectured at various conferences, events, and represented several drug companies as a speaker.
Kedrin dedicated over 10 years to the Board of Trustees for the American College of Osteopathic OB/GYN (ACOOG), assuming several chair and executive roles, including President from 2003-04. Currently, she serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the American Osteopathic Board of OB/GYN (AOBOG), contributing 17 years of service and participating as a clinical examiner on various committees.
Beyond the medical field, Kedrin is the Chair of Adelaida Cellars, a family-owned vineyard and winery in the Paso Robles area. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Occidental College (1975) and earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979.
With over 40 years of experience in the energy industry, Pam joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and assumed the interim-CEO role in May 2020.
Pam's career began in 1977 as an offshore drilling engineer with ARCO. She progressed through various roles, including the Offshore Business Unit when ARCO formed Vastar Resources—a lower-48 discovery and production company. Pam later led Vastar's Business Development function, overseeing mergers and purchases. Since 2007, her focus has been on domestic oil and gas non-operated working pursuits, and she became a partner in Ztown Investments.
Currently, Pam serves on Laredo Petroleum's Board of Directors, contributing to the compensation and governance committees. She is also a member of Shawcor's Board of Directors, a Canadian oilfield services company, where she chairs the Compensation and Organizational Development Committee.
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas.
Joe, a seasoned energy executive with over 40 years of oil and gas experience and over 20 years in senior finance roles, joined the board as an independent director in July 2011. He currently serves as the chair of the Audit Committee.
In 1974 he began his career at ARCO, a British Petroleum company. Throughout his career, he held various positions that allowed him to work in multiple finance departments. He ended his ARCO career in 2001 as Vice President, Controller, and Principal Accounting Officer of Vastar Resources, Inc.

In 2001, he joined Burlington Resources, Inc. as Vice President, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer, retiring in 2006 as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Since then, Joe has retired and served on various boards, including Linn Co, LLC, Global Geophysical Services, LLC, BPI Energy Holdings, Inc., and Rancher Energy Corp. He also contributed to non-profit organizations such as the Anchorage Boys & Girls Club, Providence Hospital in Anchorage, and the American Petroleum Institute Accounting Committee.
Joe is a Certified Public Accountant in New York, holding a Bachelor's in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1973. Additionally, he earned a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University.
In January 2022, Steve Orr was elected to the board of directors of Scientific Drilling International (SDI). Prior, he was serving as the President & CEO of ShawCor Ltd. from May 2014. During his time, Steve had been active in advisory roles with ShawCor Ltd. and Learnedly.
Before joining ShawCor, Steve Orr had an extensive and distinguished career at Schlumberger, a leading global provider. During his 20-year tenure at Schlumberger, Steve held a variety of senior operational and functional roles globally, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and deep understanding of the oilfield services industry. Mr. Orr is a highly educated and accomplished professional, holding a B.Sc. in Earth Science from Memorial University. His academic background in Earth Science has provided him with a solid foundation and deep understanding of the geosciences, which has been instrumental in his successful career. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Mr. Orr has further enhanced his professional credentials by completing senior executive programs in Strategic Innovation and Strategic Finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the International Institute of Management Development.
