Board of Directors

Kedrin is the eldest child of Scientific Drilling founders Don and Elizabeth Van Steenwyk. She is an owner of SDI and joined our board as a director in 2003. Meanwhile, in 2011 she joined the Audit Committee at its beginning.
Kedrin worked as an OB/GYN until 2013 when she retired. She completed her internship in 1979 and residency in 1984 at the Kettering/Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Her specialty resided in private practice in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. However, as the Program and Clinic Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program at Kettering Medical Center, she served on the OB/GYN faculty at Wright State. While working, Kedrin lectured at numerous conferences and events and served as a speaker for several drug companies.
Kedrin served on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Osteopathic OB/GYN (“ACOOG”) for over 10 years. During her time, she served in several chair and executive roles. She eventually became the President from 2003-04.
Kedrin serves on the American Osteopathic Board of OB/GYN (“AOBOG”) as Secretary/Treasurer. During her 17-year contract with AOBOG, Kedrin has served as a clinical examiner on various committees. She also serves as Chair of Adelaida Cellars, a family-owned vineyard, and winery in the Paso Robles area.
Kedrin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Occidental College in 1975 and received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979.

Pam has over 40 years of experience and knowledge in the broad energy industry. She joined our Board of Directors in 2011 and moved into the interim-CEO role in May 2020.
Pam started her career with ARCO in 1977 as an offshore drilling engineer. She continued moving up within the company of great responsibility. This led her to the Offshore Business Unit when ARCO formed Vastar Resources. At the time, it was a lower-48 discovery and production company. Later, Pam led Vastar’s Business Development function and was responsible for mergers and purchases. Since 2007, she has been focused on domestic oil and gas non-operated working pursuits. Furthermore, she was a partner in Ztown Investments.
Pam is currently a member of Laredo Petroleum’s Board of Directors, sitting on the compensation and governance committees. In addition to the Board of Directors of Shawcor, a Canadian oilfield services company. Pam is the Chair of the Compensation and Organizational Development Committee.
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas.

Joe is a veteran energy executive with over 40 years of oil and gas experience. He also has over 20 years of experience in senior finance positions for publicly traded corporations. In July 2011, Joe joined our board as an independent director. Furthermore, he also serves as chair of the Audit Committee.
In 1974 he began his career at ARCO, a British Petroleum company. Throughout his career, he held various positions that allowed him to work in multiple finance departments. He ended his ARCO career in 2001 as Vice President, Controller, and Principal Accounting Officer of Vastar Resources, Inc.
Joe joined Burlington Resources, Inc. in 2001 as Vice President, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer. Therefore, in 2006, he retired as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Since then, besides his service on our board and the other boards identified below, Joe has retired.
He formerly served as a director at Linn Co, LLC, Global Geophysical Services, LLC, BPI Energy Holdings, Inc., and Rancher Energy Corp. Meanwhile, being on the Anchorage Boys & Girls Club boards, Providence Hospital in Anchorage, and American Petroleum Institute Accounting Committee. Joe also has experience in non-profit.
Joe is registered as a Certified Public Accountant in New York and holds a Bachelor's in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1973. In addition to a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University.

In January 2022, Steve Orr was elected to the board of directors of Scientific Drilling International (SDI).
Steve has recently been active in an advisory role with ShawCor Ltd. and Learnedly after stepping down as President & CEO of ShawCor Ltd—a position he has held since May 2014.
Before joining Shawcor, Steve was the Oilfield Services Drilling Group president at Schlumberger. He served in senior operational and functional roles in many locations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific over his 20-year career.
Mr. Orr holds a B.Sc. Earth Science from Memorial University. He also has completed senior executive programs in Strategic Innovation and Strategic Finance. These were achieved at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the International Institute of Management Development.
