Wes Shedd joined Scientific Drilling International in 2002 as a field engineer in the Gulf of Mexico. During his time, he developed through several domestic assignments throughout operations and sales. He has been a technical coordinator for several major oil companies in Houston, Texas.
In 2007, Wes led the charge for the turnaround and startup of several key markets. In other words, as the US Land market was evolving. Both markets were located in the Barnett Shale of North Texas and the Eagleford Shale in South Texas. For instance, he managed the Gulf Coast region with several dynamic markets. For example, including Onshore Shale Basins, Offshore GoM, and Remote Directional Drilling. All before being appointed VP of WH Operations and Sales in 2019.
Wes graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He resides with his wife and family in Montgomery, Texas. Above all, he is an avid youth sports promoter.
Kieran Duggan joined Scientific Drilling International in 2008 and is responsible for all the company’s financial functions. For example, these include accounting, audit, treasury, and corporate finance. Therefore, for the past 14 years, his experiences have varied. For instance, business analyst and operational finance to director of finance. His most current position was chief accounting officer. As a result, he currently sits as our chief financial officer. In addition to the significant areas he oversees, he supervises the company’s Business Information Systems and IT.
Kieran holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo. Furthermore, he also holds a Master of Science in Administration with a focus in Accounting from the University of Illinois Champaign. Originally from the Midwest, Kieran resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife and three daughters.
Gerald Heisig joined Scientific Drilling International in 2011 and is responsible for developing and enhancing SDI’s tool and service portfolio. SDI’s three technology centers are located in Paso Robles (California), Houston (Texas), and Celle (Germany).
He has over 25 years of experience in the drilling industry. Meanwhile, his expertise varies in Product Line Management and Operations Support positions. Before joining SDI, he worked for Baker Hughes for 18 years in Germany, the US, and Malaysia. In other words, he developed and commercialized an industry-leading downhole drilling dynamics data acquisition and processing tool. Thus, providing new insights into the downhole drilling environment and becoming the essential component of a precise real-time drilling optimization service. In addition, Gerald authored or co-authored about 20 papers, mostly on drilling dynamics and mechanics, and optimization. Moreover, to hold several patents on drilling-related technologies and concepts.
Gerald holds a Diploma and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University in Braunschweig, Germany. Furthermore, a thesis on modeling the dynamic and static behavior of BHAs provided the foundation for today’s industry-leading BHA analysis and simulation programs.
As General Counsel and Secretary, Dan Carter joined Scientific Drilling International in May 2011. During his time at Scientific Drilling, Dan’s scope and duties have changed as the needs and aims have changed.
Therefore, Dan has more than 35 years of experience in the energy sector. While at E&P, he developed from engineering and legal roles to legal leadership roles in the service sector. Immediately before joining Scientific Drilling, Dan served as SVP, General Counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer of Global Energy Services. Leading to some of the industry’s first walking drilling rigs, Lime Rock Partner’s company. This company manufactures innovative well-service systems and mud-pumping solutions in several areas.
After graduating from college, Dan began his career at Transco Exploration & Production. Meanwhile, he started as a Drilling Engineer before moving on to its pipeline affiliates. At the pipeline affiliates, he served in both technical and legal roles. Beginning in 1998, Dan spent over 10 years with NATCO Group in the highest legal and management positions. At NATCO, he led its initial public offering, energetic merger and acquisition activities, and placement of a $100 million senior credit facility.
Dan graduated from Louisiana Tech University with Chemical Engineering and Political Science degrees. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. He is a member of several legal and energy-related professional organizations.
Mike Shewan joined Scientific Drilling International in 2014 as Region Director for the Middle East, Europe, Russia, and Africa. In 2015 he took over as Vice President of Sales and Operations for the Eastern Hemisphere.
As a result, Mike has over 20 years of oilfield experience, including operational and management roles in different locations in the Eastern Hemisphere. Before joining Scientific Drilling International, he worked for Sperry Drilling / Halliburton as Country manager and, most recently, Region Manager for Eurasia.
Furthermore, Mike is a member of the SPE and studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Highlands & Islands, Inverness.
Mike Leahy joined Scientific Drilling in 2006 as Accounting Manager. He was responsible for safeguarding the EMEA region's financial reporting and tax compliance. Now as Director, Administration & Finance, he leads Finance, HR, Legal, IT, and Training for the Eastern Hemisphere.
Meanwhile, he has over 30 years of experience in the UK in International legal and operational financial reporting, taxation, and treasury. For instance, Mike has completed his accountancy training with Total in Aberdeen and London. He held senior financial leadership roles within the O&G industry, Finance Director at Neyrfor-Weir, and West Africa Controller at Weatherford.
Mike is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a graduate of Strathclyde University with a degree in Mathematics.
Bo Holland joined Scientific Drilling International in 2006 and is responsible for commercial product sales, marketing, and strategy. In addition to the extensive portfolio, which focuses on precision wellbore placement. Previously, Bo has worked in several different commercial roles, from operations to product development teams. Firstly, he started working for Scientific Drilling in the Gulf of Mexico as a field engineer and has worked in-house for several Major Operators throughout his career. A diverse background in a single company has given him a unique perspective for leading the company.
Bo holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University. In short, he was born and raised in Mississippi. Bo and his wife live with their three children in The Woodlands, Texas.
